Personal Reality....

interesting two words aren't they??

Personal reality.

Here's my dissertation on those words...

We all have a sense of personal reality. We all have our own thoughts of the world and the life we live. We all have our own personal twists to things. That's why when you see an accident - there are different details about the accident. What we see as real, might not be what is real. Many of us can conjure up things in our minds that are just not true - but to us - and in our perception they are very true...

The problem is - how distorted do we allow our own personal reality to get? Or - what happens when someone's personal reality becomes so distorted they can not see the true reality?

The biggest question is - how do you draw someone back from their personal reality into the true reality???

pray - pray hard.....

I can't give details nor will I ever be able to. I can't say anything but this is the fastest way to get it out that a friend of mine needs super duper amounts of prayer right now. Just pray please...

Have in common???

What does a shovel, 10:30pm and a zoo all have in common???

..

you'll never get it so don't even try.....

The hamster met Jesus tonight. It was time. He has been sick. He kept getting these abcesses which from what I've researched - found it was pretty normal - so we just let him work through them. He would continue to eat and drink but tonight when I saw him - we knew it was time for him to go. He had one (I think) under his ear and it was just nasty. He was acting wierd and then when I checked the box he sleeps in - there were flies. That was the deciding factor. I've lived on a farm. I know what an open wound and flies have in common. MAGGETS!!! So - Kali and I looked at each other. I said - "I can't do it." She looked at me and said "There's no way I can do it and look at Sarah in the face." so - we called in the reinforcements.. Big Harry from next door. I put gloves on, pulled him out of his cage - put him in a check box and went to dig a hole. Can I just say we have GREAT neighbors?? Big Harry came over and introduced the hamster to his new heavenly home and then even put him in the "grave" and covered it back up for us.

Sarah won't know for a while that her hamster is gone. She's having such a hard time in Missouri right now. She's lonely and I think she's very upset that her sister is living with us and shes not. She wants to but she's not and Marion is. I'm sure she doesn't even realize it yet but I would bet that is part of the trouble...

After just saying maybe an hour before there really isn't much to blog about because I'm just so busy with work and organizing kids right now - the hamster passes on... so you get a blog entry.. Lucky you.. :)

A quickie...

Yes - once again - it's been a while. School started. Once school starts - everything else starts. I would LOVE to have an evening home - but I don't get one for another week and 1/2.

My friend leaves tomorrow morning for San Francisco. She won the trip - can you believe it?? Won the trip!!! She's taking her sister - but I'm not saying I'm not a little bit jealous. I'm glad they get to go though because it will be a great memory for them as sisters...

That's really all I have - it's late, I'm tired and I'm still not done. I have been working on moving a freezer somewhere in my house for the last 3 days. My brother got this freezer for me and he said it would fit down in my basement. Mind you - my brother has never seen the 90 degree turn you have to make to get to my basement. It didn't fit so we had to completely reconfigure the office because it wouldn't fit in the backroom either! So now - my desk is in the basement, the freezer is in the office along with the rabbits and the hamster that just needs to go meet Jesus. I mean after all - how long does a hamster live????????

That's all...

Palin???

So tell me - what was YOUR take on her speech???

The pictures I promised....

The friends that we went to visit had this cute calf tied up in their yard. They even put him on a lead and take him for walks. He was the cutest thing. We were feeding him cut up carrots and the above pictures are of Terrance doing just that - the other two kids wouldn't get that close. I fed him a few too and let him suck on my hand just like we did when we were kids...

Above my pay grade...

mmmm - how many times could you use that in your life? How many times when your boss walks into your office and asks you to do something - how many times could you get away with saying "It's above my pay grade." How many times could you or I get away with saying that and NOT lose our jobs??

How would you think of your neighbor if they took their new born baby and laid it out in the front yard to not be watched, looked after - anything? How many times do you see pregnant women smoking and it just pisses you off? How about drinking? Oh wait - the drugs. We just don't care if a pregnant women smokes some crack while that baby is growing right??

I really try to not get political but I'm sorry. I have to now for a few minutes and maybe a few blogs. They will come far and few between because I really don't know that much about the politics of this big country. I can't stand to sit and listen to the empty promises, the lies, the pretty pictures they all want to paint for us - sucking us in... I hate this time of every 4 years.. but... I have to say... this time - I'm a little into it. I love the fact that I'm alive to see history take place. I love the fact we have a beauty queen who carries a baseball bat and isn't afraid to use it if needed on the ticket for vice president.

However - back to the reason this blog entry was started.... After watching the Rick Warren Saddleback Church debate with Obama and McCain... Rick asked a question about when a baby is entitled to rights?

McCain's immediate answer... conception.

Obama's answer... It's above my pay grade...

WHAT???

Ok - now - granted - he has a lot more he said and I'm taking 5 words out of his whole explaination - however - did anyone else realize that he talked A LOT more through his interview at each question????

Maybe it's because I'm old now but I'm thinking this election is going to be pretty interesting.....

pretty darn interesting....
